Report summary

The giant BP-operated Shah Deniz gas-condensate field is located offshore in the southern Caspian Sea. It was discovered in 1999, with Phase One brought onstream in 2006 and a larger Phase Two now under development, targeting first gas by the end of the decade. Phase One production is currently at a plateau of more than 1,000 mmcfd. Output has increased steadily since 2006 in line with Turkish demand.
