US Steel's Great Lakes steel plant located at Ecorse, Michigan produces hot rolled and cold rolled sheets and HDG and electro-galvanised steels. Most of the steel is sold to the automotive sector in Michigan. Only two (B2 & D4) of the three blast furnaces are in operation at the Great Lakes plant producing 1.9 Mtpa.
