The Tawke oil field is located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Oil was discovered in the Tertiary Jeribe formation with the Tawke-1 exploration well. DNO completed a fast-track development in 2007, installing a 100,000 b/d central processing facility and a pipeline to deliver the crude into the Iraq-Turkey pipeline. The operator doubled the capacity of the field to 200,000 b/d in early 2015. In 2012, a second field, Peshkabir, was discovered on the block. Appraisal of Peshkabir started in October 2016. 2P reserves were downgraded in 2015, with 82.5 million barrels reclassified as contingent reserves.
