The Barnett Woodford of West Texas is a play combining the Barnett Shale and the underlying Woodford Shale. Both the Barnett and the Woodford have been very successful stand alone shale plays in other parts of North America; however the West Texas play has not been successful thus far due to the depth of the target zones and the higher associated drilling and completion costs.
