Asset Report
Békés and Derecske tight gas unconventional concept play
Report summary
The Békés sub-basin and Derecske Depression are located within the prolific Pannonian Basin and are characterised by high temperatures and pressures. The potential economics of tight gas development are likely to be similar to those initially projected for the Makó Trough - extremely high cost. Drilling in high pressure and high temperature regimes presents substantial challenges around the limitations of available mud systems, fracture stimulation fluids, and downhole electrical equipment.
