Bowen Basin CBM unconventional play

Report summary

Australia's Bowen Basin holds some of the best coalbed methane resources in the world with thick, gassy, high permeability coals found at the Fairview and Spring Gully fields.  There are also less permeable areas, such as Moranbah, that have been developed using specialised drilling and completion techniques such as surface to in-seam (SIS) drilling. The bulk of the basin's CBM reserves will be produced for the Pacific Basin LNG market via three greenfield LNG projects.
