Report summary

The Karoo Basin Coalbed Methane (CBM) play, located in northeast South Africa, is underexplored and has not been developed. Eight pilot wells by Kinetiko Energy in the Amersfoort area have demonstrated commercial potential, with well flow rates of up to 0.35 mmcfd. Infrastructure and accessibility in the area is well established, in contrast to the shale gas play further south.
