Paris Basin shale gas unconventional concept play
Report summary
The Paris Basin is a mature conventional oil and gas region. However, in 2010 attention turned to the unconventional potential of the basin's Permian, Carboniferous and Jurassic shales. Operators have so far focussed on the tight oil potential, although the shales are also thought to contain large volumes of gas. This report evaluates the commercial potential of an early-stage, conceptual unconventional gas play. We have not attempted to calculate resource potential, or establish a type curve and cost estimates.
