Asset Report
Pearsall shale gas unconventional play
Report summary
The Pearsall shale is a gas play located in South Texas from Maverick to DeWitt County. The formation underlies much of the prolific Eagle Ford shale. Western sections of the play are much deeper and gassier than north-eastern portions. Gas drive mechanics found in the western portion of the play influence greater well productivity. Northeastern portions trend toward the condensate window of the Eagle Ford. Less than 100 horizontal wells have been drilled in the Pearsall, and we view the play as uneconomic.
