2013 US Gulf Coast and Gulf of Mexico Shelf year in review
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The Eagle Ford remained the region's growth story. During 2013, total hydrocarbon production averaged over 1.4 mmboe/d, making it the world's leading tight oil play. Leading operators are now in full development mode, and focused on unlocking value through cost reduction and downspacing. Drilling activity in the region's two giant shale gas plays, the Haynesville and Barnett, was muted due to low gas prices. Exploration activity continued in emerging plays both on and offshore.
