Agha Jari

Agha Jari

Report summary

Agha Jari is located in the Khuzestan region of the prolific Zagros Basin, and is the fourth largest oil field in Iran, after Ahwaz and Gachsaran. The field started production in 1939. Production has been in decline since the field reached its peak at over one million barrels per day in the 1970s. Agha Jari is one of four major Iranian oil fields that have undergone extensive redevelopment as part of the National Iranian Oil Company’s plans to achieve its aggressive production targets by boosting recovery rates.
