Report summaryThe Ajil field lies to the south of Baiji in northern Iraq, and is under the operatorship of North Oil Company (NOC). The field was under the control of Islamic State militants between June 2014 and mid-2015, when the group occupied large swathes of northern federal Iraq. The field was producing around 10,000 b/d prior to the occupation. For the purposes of this analysis, we assume the field was damaged prior to be retaken by Iraqi forces and that production from the field has declined to 2,500 b/d.
