The Ayoluengo Lora and Hontomin oil fields are Spain's only onshore oil fields and are situated near the city of Burgos within the Basque Cantabrian basin.The Ayoluengo field was discovered in 1964 by AmoSpain (Chevron) with well Ayoluengo 1. It was the second discovery of hydrocarbons in Spain following the Castillo gas field in 1960.
