Report summaryThe Bai Hassan field lies to the west of the Kirkuk field, and falls under the jurisdiction of the North Oil Company, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Oil. Bai Hassan was discovered in 1953, with production brought onstream in 1960. In recent years capacity at the field has increased, production peaking at 195,000 b/d in 2012. However, the Islamic State militant occupation has lowered our 2015 forecast to 10,000 b/d. Since the militant occupation, Kurdistan's KAR Group has been operating the field on behalf of the KRG. The majority of production is being routed to Ceyhan via Kurdistan's Export Pipeline.
