Report summary

Barda Rash is located in Kurdistan northern Iraq approximately 55 kilometres northwest of Erbil. Komet discovered the field with the Barda Rash 1 exploration well in 2009. Afren took a 60% interest and operatorship in the block in 2011 and brought the field onstream with a production capacity of 5 000 b/d in 2012. The field's resources were downgraded to 250 million barrels (2C) in January 2015. This was followed by operatoir Afren going into administration in July 2015.We assume production from the field ceased at the end of June 2015.
