Frontera Resources signed the Production Sharing Contract for Blocks 12 and 13B in 1997. The two blocks are now commonly referred to as Block 12.The block holds several oil or gas fields (Taribani, Mtsare Khevi, Mirzaani, Patara Shiraki and Nazarlebi) and a number of prospects. The fields were developed during the Soviet era.
