In late-October 2006, effective from 1 May 2007, new 'Operations Contracts' were signed by all 12 upstream operators in Bolivia as part of the country's ‘nationalisation' programme. A total of 44 new contracts were signed covering all fields and exploration licences in Bolivia (some fields had individual contracts, whilst some fields with a common operator were grouped together).
