Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) has announced the acquisition of BP's non-operated interests in the Sean Area gas fields in the UK Southern Gas Basin for US$288 million (£180 million). SSE entered the UK upstream in 2010, with the acquisition of interests in the Easington Catchment and Bacton Areas in the Southern Gas Basin.
