The Burg El Arab fields are located in the east of the Western Desert about 16 kilometres south of Marina El Alamein.The Burg El Arab field was discovered in 1996 by Gharib Oil Services. It was brought onstream in 1997. The smaller Burg El Arab North field was discovered in 2009 and was promptly brought onstream in 2010.Kuwait Energy entered into the concession in 2006 and between 2009 to 2012 embarked on an extensive drilling campaign drilling nine production wells leading to significant ...
