Cameroon is the eighth largest hydrocarbons producer in Sub-Saharan Africa. The upstream sector is mature; production began in 1977. Production is now in long-term decline after peaking at 165,000 boe/d in 1988.All liquids production comes from the shallow offshore Niger Delta (Rio del Rey) and Douala basins.
