Chesapeake is one of the largest producers in the Northeast region. Outside of the Northeast, Chesapeake operates in the Rocky Mountains and Gulf Coast regions. The company narrowed its focus to its Marcellus and Haynesville gas assets since it has emerged from bankruptcy. The low cost of supply in the Marcellus allows Chesapeake to generate cash flow to fund drilling.
