Report summary

Chevron is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies. In the Lower 48, the company has operations in the Mid-Continent, Permian, Gulf Coast, Rocky Mountains, Northeast, and West Coast. Chevron's purchase of Atlas Energy in 2010 gave the company a large position in the Marcellus Shale. Through this acquisition, Chevron assumed Atlas's role as operator in a joint venture agreement (JV) with Reliance.
