Report summaryThe East Baghdad field is located in central Iraq, with the country's capital positioned over a section of it. The field contains billion barrels of oil, but is only producing around 10,000 b/d. This is because of the complex geology, minimal investment and populated location. East Baghdad was put up for tender in the second petroleum licensing round in 2009, but no bids were received. The Midland Oil Company, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Oil is the operator.
