Two record breaking Nova Scotian licensing rounds were the highlight of 2012 activity in Canada's East Coast. Shell and BP placed Cdn$2.0 billion in work commitments for 10 deepwater blocks located in an underexplored area southwest of the Sable sub basin which holds the Sable Island and Deep Panuke gas projects.
