Report summary

The East Zeit field was discovered by Amoco in the southern Gulf of Suez in 1976 and developed by Esso in 1984. The field is currently operated by Dana Petroleum which acquired the asset from Devon Energy in 2007. Production of oil and gas is via two platforms tied back to an onshore export terminal. Oil production peaked in 1990 at over 23 000 b/d but by the late 1990s fell below 10 000 b/d and has declined since as the fields have matured.
