The Obodugwa and Obodeti fields were discovered by the Total/NNPC Joint Venture (JV) on the licence formerly known as OML 56. Obodugwa was renamed Ebendo in 2012 at the request of the local community. They are in the northern part of the Niger Delta, and although discovered in 1978 and 1981, they were not developed by the Total JV. In 2003, the discoveries were offered in a marginal fields round.
