The Ebla Gas Development consists of two onshore gas fields, Ash Shaer and Cherrife, located in the Palmyrides Basin in Central Syria. The Ash Shaer field facilities were completely destroyed by Islamic State militants in May 2016 and we consider the field to have been abandoned.Petro-Canada Palmyra B.V., a subsidiary of Suncor Energy, operated the project, which came onstream in April 2010 following inauguration of the gas treatment plant and processing facilities constructed by Petrofac. ...
