Report summary

Energy XXI is an independent exploration and production company focused almost entirely on the US Gulf of Mexico Shelf (GoMS). The company was incorporated in 2005 and has grown its Shelf position through a number of acquisitions. It acquired Marlin Energy Offshore in 2006 Pogo Producing Company's Shelf assets in 2007 MitEnergy in 2009 and a number of fields from ExxonMobil in December 2010. By 2013 Energy XXI was the third largest producer on the Shelf.
