Equinor is a major international energy company headquartered in Norway, with oil and gas operations in over 36 countries. The company entered the onshore North American market via a joint venture (JV) in the Marcellus Shale with Chesapeake Energy in November 2008, and has since expanded its US operations to include positions in the Eagle Ford Shale and North Dakota Bakken.
