In the Mid-Continent, the company has large acreage positions in unconventional shale gas plays, the Arkoma Woodford and Fayetteville shales in Oklahoma and Arkansas respectively, and more recently in the liquids-rich Ardmore Woodford Shale in southern Oklahoma.ExxonMobil's long-lived regional assets provide steady cash flow to fund operations in more capital-intensive plays.
