ExxonMobil's Liza-1 well makes discovery in Guyana
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
ExxonMobil has made Guyana's first ever oil discovery at its Liza-1 well on the offshore Stabroek Block. The well was drilled to an Upper Cretaceous fan play, encountering over 90 metres of oil-bearing sandstone reservoir. The Liza-1 discovery follows two disappointing wells drilled on the shelf in 2012 and is the only material discovery in the Guyana Basin other than the 2011 Zaedyus oil find.
