Forest Oil announced the sale of its Texas Panhandle properties to Templar Energy for US$1 billion. The deal includes all of Forest's assets in the region, with current production of approximately 100 mmcfed and 517 bcfe of proved reserves as of YE 2012.This is the sixth major deal in the Texas Panhandle in the last 18 months, lending support to the argument that gas-weighted assets can be attractive, even at current gas prices, to the right buyer with the right business model.
