Report summary
Girelle, Pageau, Hylia and Vanneau are located in the Port Gentil trough, offshore Gabon. The fields were discovered in shallow water, during the exploration hike following the large Anguille and Torpille discoveries in the early 1960s. Girelle was discovered by SPAFE - the predecessor of Total Gabon - in 1971. Appraisal work revealed the small Pageau field the following year.
