Global unconventional oil supply summary

Report summary

Total production of unconventional oil (biofuels, coal-to-liquids, gas-to-liquids and oil shale) is forecast to increase from 2.4 million b/d in 2012 to around 3.3 million b/d in 2020 and 5.1 million b/d by the end of our forecast period in 2030.  Amongst unconventional sources, biofuels is seen as having the most potential to add to conventional supply.
