Greater Sunrise is located approximately 450 kilometres northwest of Darwin. It consists of two gas/condensate fields, Sunrise and Troubadour in the Timor-Leste and Australian Joint Petroleum Development Area (JPDA). The fields were discovered in 1974 and various participants have been trying to monetise the resource ever since.
