Husky Energy corporate - reported results analysis

Husky Energy corporate - reported results analysis

Report summary

Husky acted decisively in 2016, further cutting costs, divesting midstream interests and non-core Western Canada assets. These actions helped repair the balance sheet, but full-year financial results were predictably weak. Operating cash flow was down 48% and adjusted earnings declined 93% compared to last year as lower realized pricing and refining margins took their toll. In addition, steep budget cuts and asset disposals impacted Husky's production profile. Full-year 2016 volumes were down 7% compared to last year to 321,000 boe/d and 2017 growth is expected to be modest, at 2% at mid-point.
