Report summary

The Karanj and Parsi fields are located within 10 kilometres of each other in the prolific Zagros Basin and are referred to as Karanj-Parsi. The fields were discovered and brought onstream within four years in the 1960s, and produced over a combined 700,000 b/d at their peak. The Paranj field, a smaller and far more recent discovery, was found to lie between the two giant fields.
