Katmai (GC 40)
Report summary
Katmai (GC 40) is a subsalt, Middle and Lower Miocene mid-size oil and associate gas discovery located in the northeastern part of the Green Canyon protraction area in 634 metres (2,080 feet) of water. The field was discovered by Noble Energy in August 2014 but acquired by Fieldwood (now QuarterNorth Energy) in 2018. Katmai is developed as a 36 kilometre (22 mile) subsea tie-back to QuarterNorth's Tarantula platform. First oil was achieved in May 2020 via one well.
