 On 25 May 2017, Kinder Morgan Inc. announced it reached the final investment decision (FID) to proceed with the Cdn$7.4 billion Trans Mountain Expansion (TMX) project. The project will twin the existing 1,150 km Trans Mountain line from Edmonton, AB to Burnaby, BC and add 590,000 b/d of capacity, bringing total system capacity to 890,000 b/d.
