Report summaryKMK Munai operates the Kokzhide, Kumsai and Mortuk oil fields in the Precaspian Basin, around 230 kilometres south of Aktobe. All three were discovered in the Soviet era but were not developed until the mid-1990s. Kokzhide came onstream first in 1996, followed by Mortuk in 2008. We expect production at Mortuk to start in mid-2015.The Kumsai and Mortuk fields contain heavy oil.
