Report summary

The Komsomolskoye oil field is located in southwest Kazakhstan. It is majority-owned by OMV Petrom and achieved first oil in 2009. Operations are complicated by the field's location in the transition zone on the Caspian Sea coast. The south of the field lies onshore, but extends north into a shallow-water area. The operator initially targeted peak production of 10,000 b/d via a water injection programme. However, output reached about 7,000 b/d in 2012 and has since been in decline. The ...
