Kosmos Energy corporate report

Kosmos Energy corporate report

Report summary

A deal with BP in late 2016 puts high-impact exploration back at the heart of Kosmos' strategy. The Kosmos/BP partnership has launched one of 2017's most aggressive global exploration, targeting un-risked liquids rich resources greater than 15 billion boe. The partners benefit from attractive fiscal terms in both countries and a liquids rich discovery of around 500 mmbbl would deliver a sub-US$50/bbl breakeven development opportunity. Drill-bit success would build on the momentum of the last two years in which Kosmos has discovered over 25 tcf of gas offshore Mauritania and Senegal. The partnership with BP has strengthened commercialisation prospects for these volumes through a proposed FLNG scheme.
