Report summaryThe Krafla Area is located south of Oseberg in the Northern North Sea and comprises of the following fields: Krafla Main, Krafla Vest, Krafla Nord, Askja Øst and Askja Vest. Krafla Main was the first to be discovered, by Statoil in 2011. The discovery well's sidetrack also confirmed commercial volumes of oil and gas in the Krafla Vest prospect.
