Report summary

Lagia is a heavy onshore oil field located on the east bank of the Gulf of Suez, in the Sinai, approximately 85 kilometres south east of Suez. The field lies in close proximity to the Asl, Sudr and Matarma oil fields that were discovered during the 1940's. The area was first explored in the late forties by Anglo-Egyptian Oilfields which discovered the field with the Lagia-3 well. The heavy nature of the crude meant that the field remained undeveloped until 2012 and it is now operated by SacOil Holdings.
