Latin America 2013 exploration review and 2014 preview
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
We estimate 2.1 billion barrels of reserves were discovered across Latin America in 2013, as exploration drilling fell to its lowest levels since 2004. While the drop in drilling may paint a picture of slowing exploration in Latin America, it is somewhat misleading as 2011-2013 has seen a resurgence in licensing. This has shifted companies' focus in 2013 to acquiring seismic and evaluating exploration plans.
