Report summary

Malai is one of the most important gas fields in eastern Turkmenistan. Since 2009, the state-owned field has been connected to the Turkmenistan-China Gas Pipeline.Malai consists of two gas pools: Malai and Chartak. These were originally thought to be separate, but are now known to be in communication. Aggregate gas production peaked at more than 800 mmcfd in 2002 and is currently understood to be less than half this level. The field is highly mature, with gas reserves 85% depleted. ...
