Report summary
Marathon Oil is a large independent company with global operations. It has historically been focused on international diversification both onshore and offshore, but has pivoted in recent years to focus on US onshore unconventional development. After a small dip in 2016 activity, Marathon's Bakken assets have come to the forefront of its portfolio. Variable well design has been a big focus and initial results in 2017 and 2018 have been very positive.
