Report summary

The Matruh Block is located in the Western Desert, immediately west of the Tarek gas processing plant and development lease. The exploration licence was originally awarded to Shell in 1989. Shell made the Matruh gas condensate discovery in 1991 but, despite being granted a development lease in 1994, did not develop the field.
