Mer Très Profonde Sud (MTPS) was an ultra-deepwater exploration licence covering four blocks located in the southwest of Congo's maritime territory. TotalEnergies operates the licence which has been surveyed extensively since the licence was awarded in 1997. Five discoveries - Aurige, Andromede, Pegase Nord Marine, Cassiopee and Persee - were made between 2000 and 2007, with combined estimated resources of 400 million barrels of oil.
