On 20 July 2016 Mexico launched the first phase of Round Two offering 15 shallow water blocks in the Tampico Misantla and Salinas Sureste basins. This phase will close on 22 March 2017. The opening of Round Two offers an opportunity for companies looking for exploration acreage with subsalt potential.
